The bench-top grading machine is designed to provide a compact, low cost, FULLY AUTOMATIC grading/classifier machine. The model BTA22 is used to for grading industrial diamond and other super-abrasives into sub-micron and micron sizes below the sieve-able range, using the fluid sedimentation process.
The machine is completely automatic. The feed water is pumped in from a reservoir to the proper level in the mix jar using a positive displacement pump. The mixer turns on and runs for a preset length of time and then shuts off. The shut off is programmed for about 10 seconds of reverse rotation to stop the fluid rotation and vortex.
The settle time period is selected with the thumb wheel switch on the control panel. Four different micron size ranges may be selected. These sizes are variable and set up in the PLC logic program. A chart mounted on the control panel is used as reference for selecting the number to set the thumb wheel switch.
At the end of the settle period a solenoid valve is automatically opened to allow the fluid with the graded size diamond to flow into a collection tank.
The process sequence is set to repeat for as many times as programmed into the PLC logic software. Upon completing the number of sequences set up in the logic, the machine will stop and an end-of-sequence light on the control panel will turn on.
The settle drop distance is based upon the top of the water level and the bottom of the output valve. A software program to make such calculations is provided.
The machines are made and programmed to order. A period of about 6 to 8 weeks is therefore required for completion. The list price is $11,500.00 USD.
